There are times when we feel like we are getting hit on every side, and from every imaginable direction. I Hate to say it but we all have these times, times where we just want to climb in to a hole, in some place where we fell removed or safe and just cry. We are human and part of that is emotions, and with emotions there are going to be times that we are hurting. Life is full of these times where we are struggling, but the good thing is that there is other variables that play into our lives. For some of that variable may be friends or family, for others it might be our beliefs.
I know for me the thing that I can hold onto in the mist of any storm that comes into my life, is my faith in God through Jesus Christ. Life is crazy in so many ways, and the one thing that I will say is predictable about life is that it is unpredictable. The more we strive to hold on to everything that we have and the more we strive to control everything inside our tiny little grasp, the more we are missing.
There is a song that I am sure a lot of you reading this know it goes something like this… “He’s got the whole world in His hands, He’s got the whole world in His hands, He’s got the whole word in His hand, He’s got the whole wide world in His hands.” How many of you just sang that? I know I did. The point is this that song is God is in control and that He is holding everything in His hands. It is showing the greatness of God compared to the depravity of mankind. I was taught when I was 3, but the truth is still the same today. Then why so many times do I strive to grasp for everything and everyone around me? When reality has it, I AM NOT GOD, shocker I know. So the reality for you and me, unless you are God reading this, is that the more we grasp for the more we miss… My prayer for you today is that you relax, and be you and let God be God. So in those times when you think everything is out of your control remember that it is and that it is in the hands of God, and I can think of a better place for them to be can you?
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plan for wholeness and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

This week my parents are in Hawaii celebrating their 29th wedding anniversary. They have been the perfect living example of what of what love and a marriage is… They got married around the age that I am now, maybe a little older. They started out in the bottom and have worked their way up. All along providing for me all along the way never stopping to ask about themselves what they were missing out on, never thinking or showing that splitting up was an option. They stood true to the commitment that they made on that day for the last 10,590 days give or take a few for leap years. But I am pretty sure that they have taken it day by day. The days that they have wanted to scream, days the wanted to cry, days that they wanted to love, days that they have wanted to celebrate they celebrated. They realized that love is not always easy, love is not always fun, love is not always pretty. Love is Love! I have seen the best example in my parents, they have been there for each other, and they will be there for each other. Thank you mom. Thank you dad. Thank you God for blessing me with the best parents and family for me!
